Platinum Anniversary

Today's Blip shows my parents, on the terrace of their home in Spain; and they are holding a congratulatory Anniversary Card from Queeen Elizabeth.
Tomorrow, 31 August, they will celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary.
My younger brother and his wife will arrive in Spain, this evening, to join other members of the family, who have been here for a few days......and together we will celebrate, tomorrow, in Altea, at a wonderful hotel, on the sea front, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
This is the third Anniversary card, that they have received from the Queen:
for their 60th Anniversary~ Diamond
for their 65th Anniversary~Blue Sapphire
and now, for their 70th Anniverary~ Platinum.

They were married in 1946, when rationing was still in operation and they retired to Spain in 1982..... and so, have spent almost half of their married life on the Costa Blanca.
