The awfulness of war

We went on a guided history walk today amongst the WW1 trenches around the Cinque Torre, where the Austrian and Italian troops fought for 29 months across the mountain ranges in atrocious conditions. It was all very thought-provoking, particularly as the area is now affluent and full of tourists such as ourselves.
