One Town
The oldest parts of Green Valley are located smack dab in the center of what was the original town. These homeowner's associations all spring off of one of the three routes which span the length of the town, S. La Cañada Drive, and were built in the early 1970's. This is an example of town-homes in one of those HOAs.
They were generally built out of cinder block, have carports and flat roofs with tile ornamentation . Many residents decorate their yards with fake owls to keep the doves from "messing up" their walls. There is a predominance of metal sculptures and items like ceramic quail families and decorative pots. This particular neighborhood is especially rife with a variety of cactus and Mexican Bird of Paradise plants.
There's a Green Valley Recreation pool and club house here, too, and you can find many people walking outdoors during the morning and early evening. The median age in Green Valley is 71 but I suspect the people in this area might be a little older.
