Witley Court

On the way home today we stopped at Witley Court - somewhere we had often noticed the sign for but never had the opportunity to stop. It's an interesting place, which had once been a beautiful house but had been largely destroyed by fire in 1937. However, the shell remains and the lovely gardens too. It is fascinating to wander around and imagine what it must have been like, in some places some of the plaster remains and in what was once a very large conservatory pieces of glass can still be seen in places. The main picture is viewed from the house and the extra taken from near the fountain.
