Fish tank tragedy - final chapter

Well, it had to happen one day... The last of our two goldfish died today. Those of you that have been around on Blipfoto long enough, may remember the fish tank tragedy of 2010 when the fish were nearly killed because I didn't rinse the tank well enough after cleaning. Today the last of those two fish died.

Even though the girls were not that interested in the fish any more (in fact it has been with my sister-in-law since our May vacation) and they certainly were not at all interested in any fish-related chores like feeding and cleaning the tank, they were sad after it died.

After the girls had gone to bed, our youngest came downstairs again, crying, with the animal passport Inge (I think) created years ago when both fish were still alive. She ceremonially placed the passport on the shelf above our TV and made sure I marked this date next year in our calendar so we will remember. I guess the death of our fish did more to her than we thought...
