Tiny Tuesday Reveal

This is the object I photographed yesterday for Tiny Tuesday. It was correctly guessed as a pendant by hobbs but it has another purpose. 
It is a mascara pendant used by women in the Middle East to store kohl (mascara) which is used as eyeliner. I have removed the lid for the photograph and you can see the wand is flattened on the end to apply the kohl. It is missing its chain and the small section of chain seen here is usually attached to the lid for safe keeping. They often had different designs on each side so were very versatile as pieces of jewellery. The extra shows the other side of the pendant
I have a couple of these mascara pendants as well as perfume pendants which I picked up in Saudi Arabia. Future blips perhaps.
