Eddleston Valley.
A long(ish) club run today to Manor Sware, a hill overlooking Peebles, with the blip being of the Eddleston Water valley – though I wasn’t aware of the burn until I checked up the location on the map. The road leads over the Meldons, past the securely locked public conveniences, miles from anywhere other than wild camp sites (pop-up festival tent noted on descent). The building does serve a useful function in that the desperate traveller can pee against the back wall away from public gaze.
At lunch, we watched a brief storm moving towards Peebles, I was just preparing the camera when a side lobe of the storm came over the hill hitting us with a devastating broadside. By the time the onslaught had subsided, the weather over the town had also cleared.
Yesterday’s mystery is revealed in the extra; I’m pretty certain that it’s a fly agaric, the doubt is due to its colour and shape, though it does seem to fall just within the range that I’ve found on Google.
Thanks are due to BobsBlips for hosting today's Wide-Angle Wednesday challenge.
