Being good

The pet snail is still alive. I hadn't the heart to tell Alfie it wasn't the same one. Or was it? He informs me that when it's as big as him it will play football. Arguably some of the top footballers are actually very large snails. Any way, I picked Alfie up from nursery tonight and he told me he had been fighting today with his friends. He assured me it was 'play fighting'. So I tentatively asked him if he had been good today? Yes he replied. Breathing the customary sigh of relief I asked how did he know he had been good? Because the teachers didn't catch me he innocently replied.
