Common Darter

There seemed to be more dragonflies than butterflies today when I walked my butterfly transect. This is a female common darter, Shortly after taking this I was stung on the ear by a wasp - I haven't been stung by a wasp for years and had forgotten how painful it is. Six hours on its still zinging......be grateful that I'm not blipping a very large red ear.
