Eleanor Cross

This is one of the twelve Eleanor Crosses erected by Edward I to mark the points where the funeral cortège of his queen, Eleanor of Castile, stopped on its way from Lincoln to London in 1290. Only three of the crosses still stand; this one is in the village of Geddington.
