Sunbathing Swallowtail (Papilio Machaon)...

.... on top of La Riondaz above Leysin. It was a privilege to be there with a well known Swiss Naturalist, Eugène Huttenmoser, who is now 73 and happy to share his knowledge of the area. He has been taking wildlife photos for 50 years! I bumped into him up the hill 3 weeks ago and he invited me to join him one day. Today was the day and although we did not see much except butterflies, I bought his book, L'Envol, and saw what an amazing wildlife photographer he is. He doesn't use the internet so won't be competing with all you blip naturalists!
