Happy 8th Birthday Tom

Tom will remember his 8th birthday as 'the one in the boat' - the Amsterdam-Newcastle ferry to be precise. It has been an odd day for him; the anticipation of eight is hard to cope with and we've been on the verge of tears repeatedly.

All of us - nothing quite like a small cabin to really help a family bond.

Happy birthday my big boy. How did you get to be eight so soon? We are so proud of every last thing you do and achieve. We want you to know this so desparately even though you seem so riven with self-doubt.

You just need to be happy my sweetheart - the rest will take care of itself.
