Close Up and Personal

After six days of looking to the distance to see amazing landscapes, I wanted to try my hand at macro. Just about the only insects I could come across were skippers enjoying the lantana. I am still struggling with focus, but if you take enough shots, one is bound to come out as acceptable.

I am starting to understand this fascination with macro photography. There is incredible detail that can not be seen with the naked eye. Seeing the detail in one tiny creature spurs you on to want to see what others may look like.

I am grateful that we don't have that many bugs in our area, on the other hand, wish there was more variety of critters to photograph.
