European Capital of Culture

Liverpool City Council should hang its head, perhaps not in shame, but should consider what it should be doing for the working people of the city.

Liverpool's reign as the European Capital of Culture is coming to an end and will shortly hand the title to Lenz, Austria.

Liverpool is justly proud of her achievements during the year as European Capital of Culture and should be applauded for some of the amazing things that have happened here. However, culture operates on numerous fronts and levels; and some of those fronts have been disturbingly neglected. Sadly, the very people, working people, who have made enormous contributions to the city throughout the city's history, have often been neglected.
