On last year's flower stalk
This morning I had a short jog and walk along the water's edge at Southend Snells Beach around the point to Our Beach. As I was rounding the point, is heard the call of this Kotare (Kingfisher). It let me get reasonably close before darting off to sit near the top of a nearby dead tree. Too high to get a satisfactory follow up photo. So I had to be content with this one.
I was pleased with how well my eyes work to get the correct focus and depth of field. I suspect that my age is finally changing my life-long myopia into slight presbyopia. If so I will at some point soon need to adjust the diopter thingamee on the view finder.
I posted yesterday's photo only a few hours ago as a backblip.
