St Martins Church

We left Salisbury behind as we travelled to Dorset. Our journey took in Clouds Hill a National Trust property which was owned by T E Lawrence ( Lawrence of Arabia). A very quirky bachelor pad without a kitchen.

From here we moved onto to St Martins church Wareham where an effigy of the author in Arabian dress created by Eric Kennington. The plan had been to house it in Salisbury cathedral but the Bishop refused permission.

The church itself dates back to Anglo Saxon times and is incredibly small. I liked this view through to the altar and as today was not the best for outside photography this was the choice for today.

Unfortunately comments will be scarce as I am picking up wi fi on the move.
