Oh deer
this isn't a very focussed shot but the best i could do under the circumstances. Found this beautiful buck roe deer whilst out looking for dragonfly's in pitmedden. He was so busy eating that he didn't hear me approach. Unfortunately, although I managed to get quite close, he was in amongst vegetation and so I couldn't see him very well. This picture was taken just as he stepped into a gap and noticed me (you can just about see the grass in his mouth) We stared at each other for a while and then he bounded away.
A little later I came across him again, standing on the path. Again he was distracted by eating but soon looked up. I would have got a fantastic shot but i knew that as soon as I lifted my camera he would make a bolt for it - and he did. Hats off to all you blippers out there who get fantastic wildlife shots, I think I will need to keep practising.
