Overcast in August
I meant to post this entry last night, so I don't know who will see it.
This is at a different beach than the night before. We had smoothies and looked at the water. I had really wanted to go swimming the day before, as it had been so hot (finally), but the weather changed quite suddenly and this is the picture of the beach just after the rain.
August is bitter sweet. There are still warm days, with camp fires, flowers, and the smell of rose hips and blackberries beginning to ripen. Yet, there has often been the threat of an impending return to work or school, cooler weather, and darker days.
In the foreground, you can see some rose bushes and, lower on the bush, there are fat rose hips, beginning to ripen. Some of the sand is exposed on the beach, hinting at a swimming appeal, but the sky is still moody after the rain.
