I've had a great day taking part in a team of four in the St Albans Stampede. Its a12 hour endurance race, with the winners in each category being the individual or team who cover the greatest distance in the time. We managed 68 miles around the hilly off-road course, quite a bit of it in heavy driving rain. This was on the uphill stretch to the finish of my second lap, and as Tony Barr's photo shows, it was already beginning to hurt!
