Today I took the train (well, 3 actually) to Harwich/Dovercourt. I was only there a couple of weeks ago, but I'd booked this train journey a while back and wasn't expecting to go there with my sister to the jolly old Sea Festival (but that's unimportant..sorry!).
I lived there when I was about 3 to the age of 6, but can remember if very clearly. It feels rather odd going back to look at houses that you used to live in with strangers living in them now. Harwich is a bit of a spooky old place, it has a strange feel to it. I had a good walk along by the sea and once again got wet, and cold then dry and hot in the changeable weather. I also had very squelchy feet after treading in a swampy area of grass which came up to my ankles. That will teach me not to wander off the sensible path! A squelchy foot, sock and Converse never did anyone any harm though (I don't think?!)
