On ya bike!

Last year I took part in a round-Anglesey cycle in aid of the RNLI. Despite the weather being utterly appalling there was a point at about 60 miles in that I sudden realised that road cycling was great fun.

Earlier this year, after lots of deliberation, I bought a secondhand road bike. What I hadn't been prepared for was the amount of kit aimed at cyclists and, indeed, the seriousness that they attach to the wearing of Lycra.

Knowing where my strengths lie has ensured that I have avoided the Lycra but, inspired by the astonishing success of the GB cycle team at the Olympics, I have decided to invest in a pair of cycle shoes. Rio here we come!
