Jacob's Ladder

The number 35 was diverted this morning so at about 8.15am, already 5" late, I found myself. halfway up Calton Hill on Regent Rd rather than on the Canongate, on the other side of the dividing trench of Calton Rd.

Jacob's Ladder is the quickest, but scary, route connecting Regent Rd with Calton Rd via the rocky hillside and out under the railway bridge.
