Friends and a Nature Reserve

I travelled up to Milton Keynes today to spend a few days with dear friend B.  After lunch we met up with M. and had a wander around this relatively new nature reserve.  We visited all the hides in turn and chatted, took photos, wandered, chatted some more and just enjoyed each other’s company while enjoying the latter part of the afternoon together.

The Parks Trust has transformed 48 hectares of old gravel workings into this lovely nature reserve.  The network of lakes, shallow pools, scrapes, channels and gravel islands contribute to the re-creation of what the area would have looked like before the Bronze Age more than 5000 years ago...a wildlife-rich floodplain forest. It will be interesting to see how it develops and matures over time.
