Still on the road

Well another day andother dollar! Still on the Ceilidh Trail. These youngsters played to a packed crowd in the George Hotel, almost the entire bar was full of foreign folks and they had a blast and couldnt beleive how good thse youngsters were. They range from 16 to 18 and this is their first time on the trail. My organisation gives them a weeks training, then we have a few weekend workshops then we hit the road. Out of all the 12 trails we run this is the only one that travels to more than one island, this year e will have done 5 Argyll islands and with a 7.3 metre minibus thats not cheap.
Our funders for the past three year are HIE & ARgyll Leader, European money, The Scottish Gov, CNAG, Creative Scotland, Highland Council (the only Council), and Bord na Gaelic. this is the last year of funding and while Ceilidh Trails under other Councils have been on the go for some years, the Argyll one has only been going for three . I have to say that musically this lot despite us nagging them about time keeping, closing mini bus windows after them etc, musically ther have been amazing for such young trailers. Each night has got tighter and better and last night was superb. It will be a crying shame if we cannot secure more funding to carry this on for a few more years. Any wealthy benefactors out there would be gratefully appreciated!
Happy blipping all
