Old St. Marys in OTR

Old St. Marys in Over-the-Rhine was opened in 1841 and is the oldest functioning church in Cincinnati. On the outside there is some masonry work as well as some repainting being done because the sandstone was beginning to fall off in chunks. But on the inside, this church is gorgeous from floor to ceiling. The aisle is the longest aisle in Cincinnati, therefore there are a ton of weddings at Old St. Marys. Also, you may notice the flowers that are in the stained glass windows, those are flowers brought over from Germany. This is nontraditional of the biblical stories that are usually depicted in the stained glass windows of churches. If you look a little closer there are names at the bottoms of the windows, these are the names of people and families that have helped to keep Old St. Marys alive and beautiful.
