Obligatory....

...back to school photo. First day of y2. 

This year she is excited about: 
Serving her own salad and veg (this used to be a Y1 privilege that was revoked last year) 
Having the same teacher every day, instead of a job share
Doing exciting things in the afternoon "like sewing and clay" instead of free choice. 
Having an extra play time. 
Doing the Little Big Sing. 
Starting back to dance club and orchestra. 
The y2-y3 pantomime at Christmas
"Doing more and better work"

She got up at 530, and had a snuggle with me until the alarm went off at 545. She was dressed by 6, porridge at the ready. Breakfast was leisurely then she did her new ballet - it's come on so much, she's learnt it beautifully and now is already at the "perfecting the details" stage. It's going to be gorgeous. 

We've had a few tears this morning- Monkey was needed and a lot of Mama cuddles were needed. I'm almost certain it's displaced emotions from that "End of Summer" droop, but it makes me sad for her that it came out by with stressy times doing the things she loves. However, she went to the piano and was so calm and just breezed through her pieces. And she scooted to school then trotted in without batting an eyelid. 

Swimming tonight - it will be a judgement call if I send her. I think there's an unfortunate timing of distance week with first day back, so we shall she how she is when she comes out. Though she's unlikely to agree to missing it!
