Part of the Union

Half day today so the region's teachers could attend a pretty massive (for Nelson!) meeting.  For the first time in anyone's memory both the secondary and primary sector unions attended the same meeting.  The reason?  The government's plan to revisit - albeit in a re-branded form - the old 'Bulk Funding' issue.  It wasn't popular 20 years ago, and nothing has changed.  This could turn into a major national battle.  Let's hope not.
