Preparations
This afternoon, I called into the World Peace Sanctuary at Allanton, where preparations are underway for a conference (to be held here on Saturday) and the 18th World Peace Festival (on Sunday). A team of young men were putting up a huge marquee on the lawn outside, and here inside you can see Gabriele, Claire, Jess and Kiko all hard at work as well.
The conference is called Soul of WoMen and has been described as follows:
As part of the Fuji Declaration (a transnational alliance for peace), the Soul of WoMen is a new global initiative that hopes to “inspire and empower every woman and man to bring out their authentic self and share their unique gifts to co-create a new future. In oneness, we can foster a more peaceful and flourishing world for all life – a world that honours deep feminine principles in harmony with the masculine”.
The Soul of WoMen campaign launched in Tokyo on May 15, 2016, and we are excited to launch it in Scotland on September 10
All over the world, Soul of WoMen is bringing people together to explore how to pioneer a better future through the balance of women in partnership with men – replacing gender “competition” with “collaboration” and reshaping society through greater emphasis on the qualities of nurturing, insight and compassion. On the grand scale, our aim is to work towards a transformation of global conciousnesss.
Guest speakers include Mhairi Black MP, who I am very excited to meet. The conference has completely sold out - an exciting weekend ahead for us all...
Here's a man who wanted peace :-)
