Ride...
Tuttle & I went on the bikes while the morning was still a bit cool and went along the coast to check out the scenery with MacDonald’s in mind for a pit stop (hence air con, free wifi, coffee for me and Mcflurry for him). Had a few close shaves on the bumpy coastal paths and of course the “right side of the road” issue. Felt strange not wearing a helmet as I always wear one on my own bike. One thing I noticed was that Spanish drivers are much more aware of cyclists than us in Britain. After a long Dad ‘n’ son chat over a MacDonald’s Latte and a bottle of water (Tuttle Jnr was too hot and bothered for a McFlurry and was desperate for a drink). One portion of the chat was trying to explain the “Quarter Pounder with Cheese” theory to an eleven year old in true Pulp Fiction style. I think he got it (he actually asked what they call a Big Mac in Europe……) Priceless.
A hot trek back only meant one thing: a dip in the pool. And then I continued reading The Cursed Child…….
Despite the interruptions of dipping, lunch, more dipping, a meal out, a bit of TV I managed to finish the book before midnight. Interesting play format certainly made it quick to read but not sure if I like it as there were too many “unlikely events” for my liking. And I felt that it was almost a complete copy of the Terminator franchise with all the time travelling etc (not a dodgy English speaking Austrian robot going on fun murder spree). Or just a copy of HG Well’s Time Machine.
