It began on 6th September 2016. Piotr Knight, a PhD student writing a thesis on Darwinian evolution managed to successfully create a physical manifestation of PiK-cells - the computer-modelled lifeforms that he was studying. By 13th March 2017, the single-celled organisms demonstrated parthogenesis - splitting to form further single-celled organisms. In December 2017, the first, simple, multi-celled organisms emerged. By June 2018, the original PiK-cells’ descendants were conducting experiments on the remnants of humanity.
