Tiny Farmers

I should have taken this before I sprayed them but I didn't think of it until it was too late.
This is my hyacinth plant - which the ants are using for their herd of aphids.  If I leave them, they suck out all the goodness from the flower buds and the buds die before the flowers can bloom...but I discovered that a quick spray of dish soap and water puts a stop to their little enterprise...for a short time.  They are very persistent so I have to go out and spray them off regularly.
...To see how the Ant Farmers work.

These are the same Hyacinths that the rats ate earlier in the year See Here they have gone from stumps to good size little plants again and one has just started to bloom over the last week or so.  The other has some buds, I hope I got to them before the aphids did too much damage.

*added a couple more in the extras that show how big they got.
I will have to be more careful when I put them away for the winter this year.
