Slime Mould
Growing on a dead tree stump at Langsett Reservoir. It's amazing how much surface texture there was when you got in really close. Taken on a fungi hunt with the Sheffield Sorby Society yesterday. I was there at the invitation of Penny Bun and it was good to be out in the company of people who know quite a bit about this very complex subject - there are so many species and they appear in so many different guises as they emerge and mature. In a way it was a kind of Blipmeet too as I'd worked out that Penny Bun must live fairly close by. It was good to meet up at last.
I've got a few more useful images which I'll probably share via Facebook or Flickr.
