Today's harvest

Tomatoes are this year's courgette.  Figs have done well on our one huge tree and new to the harvest table are Cape Gooseberries. When I bought the plant in May, I wasn't sure what a Physalis was and looking on-line now much prefer the Peruvian Groundcherry name. Either way it has produced a pretty large, leggy and ugly plant but with plenty of groundcherries.
DS#1 and Charlotte A set off on their camping travels today. Peace descended and then the phone calls about car issues started and by midnight they had limped back to Sablieres. DS#1's response to my questions about mpg on his car has always come back with "Smiles per gallon are much more important." Not sure how of those he got today!
