Dying Defender (Day 486)

This morning's dog walk was sheathed in fog which has hung around all day despite the strong wind.
After lunch I walked the dogs at Wasdale, hoping for some inspiration for a blip in the flat grey light. I thought this old landrover was a reasonable enough subject. It appears that only one wing a bit of chassis and the steering wheel is all that is left of it.
The highlight of my morning was the arrival of my new walking boots. Another pair of North Face to replace the excellent boots I bought two years ago. I tend to give the boots a very hard time - I walk at least 5 miles a day in all weathers and over fairly harsh terrain. I suspect that the new boots will be lucky to survive a year. Time will tell.
I am thoroughly looking forward to a glass of red with my beautiful wife this evening.
