Don't look down
As Mum won't look down, this is the view she missed out on from the bridge. Isn't it amazing? Last time we were here, we walked along the path to the left of the river and didn't encounter a single (selfish) cyclist; today we stayed high, keeping to tarmac, and encountered several riding two abreast. It annoyed me how they always expected us to step aside so that they could pass side-by-side without so much as an acknowledgement of our courtesy. The dogs were all very good and the barking and lunging was moderate and minimal. Perhaps I should let my nervous boy bark at the inconsiderate arseholes next time. They really should make use of bells, or even give a shout, and ride single file on narrow, winding tracks, knowing that there will be people enjoying the forest on foot, with dogs and children, as well as a good chance of meeting wheelchair-users and babies in buggies who cannot quickly move out of their way. The place doesn't exist solely for their cycling pleasure, much as they'd like it to.
