A walk with the Village People...

... not our village though, my friend Helen's from Badminton. We muscled in on their walking group because Helen mentioned at badminton on Tuesday that they were going to meet at Earl Sterndale and do a walk that takes in Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill. These are two amazing stegosaurus shaped outcrops of limestone near Buxton, and we had always fancied checking them out, but never got round to it. The forecast was good, we were free - what more encouragement did we need?
The blip is from the top of Chrome Hill, looking down on Parkhouse Hill  "little sister to Chrome Hill, but providing  a rather more challenging ascent"... Hang on to your hats - there we were, scrambling up the windswept edge, which some of the party found a tad challenging!
There was, however, the added incentive of a pint at the "Quiet Woman" pub when we'd done - as long as we got there by 3pm...
