CLAN

I suppose we are all used to seeing the proliferation of charity shops, specifically on the high street.  The Kirkwall Clan Cancer Support Centre is just one of them.  It is exceedingly well supported in Orkney.

CLAN Cancer Support provides emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer across north-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.  It also offers a caring environment at CLAN House, a purpose-built support and wellbeing centre in Aberdeen.  For those travelling to and from the Isles to Aberdeen hospitals for appointments or treatment CLAN provides affordable B&B accommodation at CLAN Haven and assistance with transport to and from hospital.

In Kirkwall it specifically offers a support and information service.  A range of complementary therapies is also available. The charity shop is open daily excluding Sundays. It has a sheltered therapy garden located behind the CLAN centre and shop which is accessible to clients as well as the local community.
