Ready to go

This is unheard of. All packed up ready to set off for Northampton this evening en route for a week in the Lake District. And look, there's space in the boot! The wheelchair is folded on the back seat, covered in bubble wrap and secured with the seatbelt.

The journey this evening started off inauspiciously, reports of accidents, delays and queues at and leading up to the Dartford Crossing. Once under the Thames it was fine and we arrived at the Travelodge only 15 minutes later than expected.

We found time for a blast in the gym this morning but the rest of the day was spent clearing up a load of little tasks, getting together all the stuff to take, packing everything into the car ready to go, which is where we can in at the beginning of today's journal.

Weather remains lovely in Kent but some rain forecast in the Lakes tomorrow.
