To The Cafe
It started off as popping in on the way home, then became stay the night, but has stretched out to spending the weekend with our friends in Oxford – such a lovely way to end our summer holidays. The children were up early-ish, but after a late night, the adults were definitely not up early. The children were busy kicking footballs and playing cricket and we had a quiet morning before heading into Oxford to visit the Natural History Museum – which is a fantastic place to explore. BB and E were keen to look at lots of things, while D only wanted to play cricket on the grass outside.
A visit to the café went down well with BB and D, before we then headed to the park. The boys spent the next few hours kicking a football and playing cricket. We girls quickly got fed up with this, so we went and did a couple of errands, before heading to a patisserie for some lovely cake and refreshment. So much more civilised than hanging out in the park!
We then headed home. B prepared dinner, while Miss E trapped me at the dining table to do some craft projects with her. I had a lovely time painting an egg cup, while enjoying a glass of fizz. Why do boys never want to do things like this?
The boys were tired and hungry when they eventually got back. Once we had seen to the children, it was lovely to sit out in the garden enjoying the warm evening over a couple of drinks, and yet again we sat up chatting far too late!
Here is BB taking D up to the café.
