Chester Races

On a whim we decided to go to Chester races this afternoon. It is the first time we have been in more than 10 years and we had a great time. This was helped by the fact that I came out with a healthy profit which covered our lunch.

My big win was on a horse called Penwortham which won the third race. I bet on this purely because it was where I was born. As it was an outsider my each way bet won me £47. 

The main photograph was taken in the second race and shows my horse taking a nasty tumble. The horse was fine but I understand the jockey broke his collar bone. It could have been a lot worse. I was fortunate to capture the whole sequence here.
