Off to cubs and SWI
Me and C heading along the road to the scout hut. I dropped him at cubs, saw D at beavers doing running races and headed to the bottom of the hill for an SWI meeting.
The speaker was from the Royal botanic garden, Edinburgh and he talked about a pair of Elm trees at The Palace of Holyrood. He's recently been doing some detective work on the trees as Elms are becoming rarer up here now too. He'd managed to trace the trees back to a nursery in Germany, and they've estimated that they were planted in 1906. They are amazing specimens. It was a really interesting and educational talk, loved it. Then we had a wee trip to the pub for a blether into the night.
