The Stor

Saturday 10th - this is a Back blip for Friday - Please take a look at yesterdays as well  – they are just too gorgeous & lovable

After a horrendous night of wind and rain the day has dawned the same!!
Not to worry, we decided we would head over the hills into Portree to get some dosh from the Bank of Scotland and go to the Information Centre.  Such helpful folk, so map in hand we set off to do the circuit north, travelling anti clockwise.  The weather did the decent thing and cleared for our journey.

We were two happy campers.  Saw The Stor, those amazing Quiraing Mountains, waterfalls  (plenty of), stunning light on the landscapes, special wee settlements, great people and much more.

Back to Dunvegan mid afternoon, and the weather turned to custard. The Dunvegan castle (home of the McLeods) was the next thing on the list – OMG, did it ever rain and because of that we had to abort the beautiful gardens but did a tour of the castle.  The portrait paintings were amazing, so huge and beautiful.  Even went into the dungeons.

Off out to the lighthouse, the gales were terrifying, the rains lashing, so sensibly didn’t walk out to the point.  The seas were raging.
