Out of gas.

I was out doing some 3 Peaks Cyclocross training this afternoon and getting towards the end when I punctured. A puncture's never ideal, but here was a good chance to finally try out my CO2 pump, I thought. I was pleased with how quickly I managed to get the new tube in and the tyre back on the wheel and then out came the pump from my pack. 10 minutes later I still hadn't managed to get the thing working. FFS. So resorted to using it old school as a normal pump. To make matters worse clubmate James Waldie paused his run to check everything was okay. 'Yeah James, I'm, er, fine.'
