gettin' ready...

...to burst open

it's one of those things i love about lilies - they are slow to open - it's this very meticulous process with the bud - and how it very incrementally comes to life - bursting open at the seams in almost - a lazy fashion - but when it eventually does spread its petals - fully so the world can see what's been hidden inside - it's a wonderful moment to observe - but for now you just get to glimpse a portion of - what's to come which leaves your sense wanting more - knowing for now this little bit has made it...
