We shopped in a erm shopping mall called Zenia Boulevard today. On a Sunday? Yes really. And the shops opened till late too, which we didn't expect in Spain. The walk was another warm one (half an hour) but the walk around the place meant we had to visit practically every shop to take advantage of the free air conditioning! When it came to lunch we actually eat outside under canopy where a cool gentle breeze chilled us slightly. The restaurant being called Good Rice (spelt this way in English), but the logo was shown in such a way that it appeared to be saying Good Price. Felt slightly conned once we ordered the drinks with a closer inspection of the logo on the front of the menu! As it turned out the price was actually "good" and the food was much more than just "good". Paella was the main dish they specialised in which was cooked in the traditional way (with sticks being fired as the source of fuel). So the wait (for my dish) was a bloody long wait. A few Spaniards were complaining about the service but we tried to keep calm and patient, being British. The presto my dish arrived. Worth the wait. Definitely.
The Mall had the usual collection of branded shops and stalls including Benetton, Superdry, a Minnie Mouse statue, and even a red telephone box. And there was plenty of mist being sprayed into our faces too (an outdoor piped cooling system above each shop). Treated ourselves to a few items including a Superdry watch for Tuttle Jnr, a mug for her and a Tee shirt for me. A milkshake and coffee soon followed then a quick visit to the supermarket for some food supplies before heading back home in a (air conditioned) taxi.
Gave Tuttle Jnr the blipper role for a change once we settled down with tea n coffee (in her new mug of course). Tuttle Jnr insisted on using the flash though I though it wasn't necessary, but in his case he was right. Maybe it was the heat getting to me after a long day(!).
