A sublime first half performance in which City should have scored more goals. I am delighted with the quality of football being played under Pep Guardiola. We had four starters missing in Kompany, Gundogan, Gabriel Jesus and Aguero, whereas United were at full strength. This bodes well for the future of this season.

Even Gary Neville referred to City's performance as the best he has seen in the Premier League for several years.

All week the media has focused on the possibility or even probability of Ibrahimovic wreaking revenge against Guardiola because Pep discarded him. Ironic that the real story is that Debruyne was axed by then Chelsea boss Mourinho and it is young Kevin who has had the last laugh today with a world class performance.

Ability defeated hype today.
