Oktoberfest countdown

A 30°C day. Angie off to Memmingen in the morning to get supplies for kitty and in the meantime the family took part in an online competition to "Name that ´kitty". The grandchildren came in quickly with Honeybun which I thought was very appropriate, Angie rather like just using Honey, something to do with always having a name ending in "i,e or y" - Cindy, Jerry, Sissi, Lui. However then their Dad came winging in with a name that simply blew Angie away - "Eddie" !?!? However given it is only supposed to be a temporary name until we pass it on to Angie's father (and pigs will fly) and Angie always changes names six times in the first five days, I suspect it may yet change.

One of the family messages was a timely alert from daughter Kate in Ireand to her brother in England that next week was Oktoberfest Week at Lidl in both Eire and UK and in particular his beloved "Spätzle" are on offer.Nice to see the cheese from this area "Allgäu Bergkäse" is included. I suspect several items including the beer is made in the UK.

After a bit of doing little in the morning, I felt under the weather probably due to not having slept much with Eddie as a hot water bottle until 5:00am when I gave up and made a hot water bottle and unceremoniously dumped Eddie in a cage where after 3 minutes of crying, he fell fast asleep until 9:00. So I hit the sofa rather than the very enticing pool and left Angie, Eddie and the dogs to play on the sunloungers.

No photo until evening when I took a quick shot of our hops on the terrace along with a few tomato and pepper which didn't have room in the greenhouse. Ought to pick the hops and dry to use in bathwater - gives a wonderful feel to the skin but make sure you put them in a cotton sack and not simply strew in the water: makes cleaning up a nightmare.

My personal Brexit note today: I have to agree with Liam Fox's criticism of many UK companies seemingly lack of interest in exporting. Reminded me of my Blip in February about the UK company G-tech.
Aldi & Lidl here have a British Week once a year but it is very weak.

Also loved the shock horror report that UK citizens will need visas to travel to the EU ............I guess my  1985 Blip may be  repeated.
