Redundant

On the day P.A.O and Obama made historic victories I was made redundant.
Expected as it was, still painful to hear the news.
An end of an era.
An end to 9-years of friendships and experiences
All seemed a bit dark that evening.
"I was happy in my harbour when you cut me loose..."
