Golden girl
Today is City Day in Moscow and the authorities have lined Tverskaya Street with exhibits, bands, circus performers, food stalls and other stuff. Including a model of the "Peoples Friendship Fountain", with each of the 16 former Soviet republics (which are represented in the fountain) having a painted model to pose for photographs. This is the girl from Uzbekistan holding cotton bolls, a symbol of that country in those days (and currently). Most of the other models seemed to take their role in a somewhat comic atmosphere; this one stayed mostly in the character of a statue.
