Warszawa's Palac Kultury I Nauki
775 feet of Russian mined granite looms above central Warsaw under beautiful morning sunshine! The building truly is a fulcrum of the city and love or loathe this structure it is massively iconic!
After seeing this we headed north towards The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a moving place and one of Poland's most important monuments. Strolling towards the Old Town it wasn't really the Warsaw we expected with baroque and gothic spires framing a most beautiful city squares. The area was comprehensively rebuilt after the war like for like as plans had incredibly survived WWII so a rebuild was possible. It's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then onwards to the Science Museum, a really fun place and very busy with happy engaged families enjoying all activities. Chopin Museum was excellent and we rounded it off with a trip to the top of this thing... Amazing views!
